As one of the most common cancers in the world, oral cancer is diagnosed in around 8,3000 UK citizens every year, and it can be difficult to spot - unless you’re aware of the symptoms. That’s why April has been dedicated to Oral Cancer Awareness - to get everybody on board with the warning signs, so a diagnosis can be reached as early as possible.

Spotting mouth cancer early means you have a much better chance of beating it - in fact, with an early diagnosis, the chances of surviving mouth cancer are nine out of ten. But knowing what to look out for is important, because too many mouth cancers aren’t spotted early enough. Last year, 8,722 adults in the UK were diagnosed with it - that’s an average of one every hour.
